Meet Paul, the person behind Mayver's
At Mayver's, our goal has always been to bring wholesome goodness back to Australia's kitchen tables. As a father of four, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find affordable, healthy alternatives for the foods we love.
That's why I've made it my mission to eliminate "badditives" and create a range of delicious, healthy table spreads. With Mayver's, we aim to empower everyone to lead a healthier, happier life!
From humble beginnings
In 2000, we acquired a small nut and seed roasting business. After initially supplying bulk tahini to the original owners of Mayver’s for many years, we purchased the Mayver’s brand in 2009. We saw a gap in the market for natural, healthy spreads, especially for our children. At that time, the only peanut butter available contained palm oil and sugar in plastic jars.
We launched our first two spreads, Coconut Peanut Butter and Cacao Peanut Butter, in the Coles health food section. Their success inspired us to develop a full range of natural peanut and tree nut butters.
Our business took a significant step forward when we introduced our now famous Mayvers Smooth and Crunchy Peanut Butter to both Coles and Woolworths. Consumers loved it, but we had to educate them about our unique selling points. Our natural peanut butter, packaged in glass jars, was healthier and more environmentally friendly than other options on the market. Initially, people misunderstood the natural oil on top, thinking it was added oil, which it wasn't.
Over the years, we've come a long way, and our customers now appreciate that our process is simple yet unique: we roast and grind quality peanuts into peanut butter and add a pinch of salt that’s it!
Today, we have expanded our products we offer with a wide range of nut and seed butters, as well as jams, Manuka Honey, wholefood bars, high protein bars, nutritional powders, and even healthy pet treats. With future plans to expand our range of healthy product for all to enjoy.
Our Evolution
Three years ago, we undertook a brand refresh for our Mayver's spreads range, updating the look and feel of our products. We also introduced new flavors that appeal not only to health enthusiasts but also to mainstream shoppers.
Recently, we've expanded our product offerings to include Low Carb High Protein snack bars, N*KED Health Bars, Nutritional Powders, Jams, Manuka, and Pet treats—products that cater to the whole family for various occasions.
The success and recognition of Mayver's natural products didn't happen overnight. It has taken over 12 years of hard work from our dedicated team to reach where we are today.
